Overview

The free course “Legal English Vocabulary” presents the essential key legal English terminology in 8 lessons over the space of two months. The lessons are held on-line via webinars allowing participants to join in with questions about meaning and pronunciation.

The course covers the wide range of technical and legal words and phrases used in the administration of both general law and company and commercial law, equipping the students to work an international environment.

All the teachers and trainers are either qualified British Barristers or Solicitors, in private practice with experience being practicing commercial lawyers  and, as such, they understand the questions and vocabulary that causes problems for lawyers who re not native English speakers. 

The lessons are in the form of webinars and are designed to emphasise the correct use of the vocabulary, pronunciation and use, and also answer technical legal questions from the participants about the legal meaning of the words and phrases contained in the course.

Course duration

The course is delivered by 8 lessons of 40 minutes over 8 weeks at the rate of one lesson a week. The lessons are recorded and can be viewed later by those who missed the original broadcast.
